The Feldenkrais® Method

Lynn Walker, GCFP (Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner)

Lynn was a Registered Massage Therapist for 15 years.  Her training in the Feldenkrais Method began in 2008 in Victoria with Jeff Haller, Ph.D.

She became a Certified Practitioner in 2012.  Through this training she realized that by teaching the body it is easier to change habits and become more flexible.

Since that time she has been teaching classes and individual students in Alberta and British Columbia.  She recently moved back to B.C. and continues to learn about the body/brain connection by attending seminars and participating in online courses.

The Feldenkrais Method®

A movement modality developed by Moshe Feldenkrais to improve movement.  The lessons help to change habits and choices.  The ways in which this method can help include:  increased mobility and stability; improved posture; and enhanced performance.  It can also aid in injury recovery and decreased pain.

There are two ways to experience this method:

1.  Awareness Through Movement® which is a classroom format in which the students(usually) lie on the floor and are guided through a series of movements which help to improve mobility and posture (as well as the other benefits mentioned above).  The format of these classes can also be in sitting or standing.
2.  Functional Integration which is a one on one lesson to aid in the benefits of this method based solely on the needs of the client
